WELCOME TO MY BLOG!
Aloha,
What started out as a 10th grade school project for biology class has turned into a career that has allowed John to travel the world and make a living doing something he loves. As a graduate of the famous Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, Calif., John has a delicate focus and understanding of light and how it can flatter a subject. Initially starting his career doing Commercial /Advertising assignments, John later moved into Weddings and Family Portraits. When asked what he is most passionate about he simply said, “My passion and desire is to make people look their best while allowing them to be themselves. My career in photography has given me the opportunity to meet people of all walks of life and have so many memorable experiences. We are all so different, yet so much the same!”
Delaney Maui Wedding Afternoon-Photogrpahy
Aloha and Yes it’s another beautiful day in Paradise,
Weddings on Maui are usually held on a beach or a resort grounds at what is considered the best times of day: Early morning or Sunset. Sometimes though, in order to pack in as much fun as possible to there day (say maybe a Luau later), an event is set for 3-4 pm in the afternoon. Yes, it can be hot and the beach can be busier with people, but it is possible to get great images. Below is a sample of wedding images from Greg and Mikel’s afternoon wedding at Ulua beach in Wailea on the island of Maui. Just the right amount of everything and a really relaxed couple made for a great experience for all. Enjoy the images and Aloha-

Murray Maui Family Portrait-John Pierre’s
Aloha from the sunny tropics … Maui has had a good stretch of sunny, still, albeit hot weather recently. Great for photography (i.e.- hair, dress, etc.) but warm. Luckily, a couple of fun summer swells has been gracing our south shores recently which is great to cool off in. Karen and Jason were back on Maui, with the whole family this time, so I set up another beach session to help capture the fun gathering . The beach was perfect that morning and we did a quite a few grouping in the hour that we had together. I have posted a few “different” looks of what we did just to show another possibility. Wall groupings make for great use of wall space so rather than one big image you have 3-5 smaller wraps/prints made and space in a pleasing manner. What fun to design … Enjoy and Aloha-John
Lunar Eclipse Maui Style
Aloha,
I just had to share this … I was wondering if I would get a clear shot as that night the winds were howling and the clouds and rain were making it so you would have literally 5 sec.to squeeze off a few shots and run for cover. Good fun though and love the effect. I think that is Saturn just above and to the right of the moon . Enjoy and aloha-

Maui Wedding Photographer- Martin & Cynthia’s Maui Wedding
Aloha,
I love the small intimate weddings that pull out all the stops. We had a beautiful day to celebrate Martin and Cynthia’s Maui wedding nuptials. The Westin Maui did a fantastic spread with awesome flowers, table decorations, and a decked out tent to die for. The beach side location had music softly drifting thru the air, and the ocean was a magnificent shade of blue. We ended up doing two locations this day, and luck was with us as Kapalua Bay was deserted that night. Below are a few of their many wedding day images for you to enjoy.

Maui Family Portraits-Mar Family Reunion on Maui
Aloha,
Recently Kevin & Cheryl were back on Maui, and this time it was with Cheryl’s extended family. I was thrilled to get their call requesting another family portrait appointment and meet her side of the family. They expressed how happy they were with Kevin’s family session and that they just had to do it again with Cheryl’s. Their daughter (Ava) was now almost 2 years older. I must say what a little lady Ava has become as she stole the show. We meet early at Keawakapu Beach to beat most of the sun worshipers. I love this area as it has awesome views of the Makena and Molokini. We had an beautiful Maui morning and captured many fine memories for them cherish for years to come. Enjoy and Aloha-
