WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

Aloha,
What started out as a 10th grade school project for biology class has turned into a career that has allowed John to travel the world and make a living doing something he loves. As a graduate of the famous Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, Calif., John has a delicate focus and understanding of light and how it can flatter a subject. Initially starting his career doing Commercial /Advertising assignments, John later moved into Weddings and Family Portraits. When asked what he is most passionate about he simply said, “My passion and desire is to make people look their best while allowing them to be themselves. My career in photography has given me the opportunity to meet people of all walks of life and have so many memorable experiences. We are all so different, yet so much the same!”

Maui Wedding Photograpy-Vires Maui Wedding

Aloha and welcome back …Mikelle & Joey recently tied the knot on a gorgeous day in Kapalua Maui.  Family and friends were treated to a warm still afternoon with beautiful light.  I love the light in the images of the kids walking in as well as the bride and her dad entering the beach. Below are a few of my favorites.  See you next time and Aloha-

GoodDay Mate! Beautiful Australia

Aloha,

I was recently down under in Australia with my daughter and wanted to share some of the images from our trip.  We meet in Sydney (she flew in from California) and we spent 10 days in Sydney at the Marriott Circular Quay by the harbor as well as at my good friends house in Manly. What a fun country and so much to do! The weather was kind of crazy in that some days it would be in the 70’s with the next 100+(UV index was 14!!!).  We traveled via foot, buses, rail, and ferries. The Opal system there is very cool and gets you anywhere you want to be. I think the ferry to Manly was the most fun though. I’ll share images from Melbourne in Victoria on my next post. Just a quick shout out and Mahalo to my Aussie surf mates and their wives: Max & Becca, Brian & Mads, Wally & Jan, Ross & Jill.  They truly made our trip happen!

Maui Photographer-Waghall Wedding Images

Aloha & Mele Kalikimaka,

I recently had the privilege to photograph this very cute couple from Sweden.  They had meet and feel in love in Hawaii nine years ago, and wanted to return for their dream wedding on Maui.  We had awesome weather that evening, and lots of fun exploring the beach taking pictures.  Here are a few of their memories.

Maui Family Portraits-Barton Maui Vacation

Aloha and Happy Holiday’s (Mele Kalikimaka),

Recently, Linette & Anthony were back on Maui with their children (Ava & AJ) and stayed at the Montage Resort Kapalua.  What is so great is that back in 2002 I photographed their wedding at the Westin Maui Resort in Kaanapali.  I was really great to meet their children and catch up with them both.  My how time flies when you are having fun!  Below are just a few of the fun images we took that morning.  Enjoy and Aloha-
